What a terrible game. We got absolutley ripped apart while Quinn got super fed.
I'm not even 100% how she got fed. She kept over committing to fights and dieing to me in early game. But she still got Lux most of the time, even though I got her.
Nasus sat in his top lane and fed, which is what Nasus does. Or tried to do, he didn't do a good job. Trundle didn't really gank for him, I'm not sure what Trundle did other than get out of position a lot.
Once it started to be an open field game, Quinn took off like a rocket and fed like crazy. We all just bent over and took it.
Awful awful game.

Very minimal pre-game chat speak
Usually implies our team will implode if anything goes wrong. May still here, but I think it's also because I believe our Top and Jungle are duo-queued.
Ahh and the first talk out of our ADC in pre-game is complaining. Complaining about bans they didn't speak up on, complaining about other things. Okay....so at least I know what to expect!

Fiora Jungle, Volibear Mid, Miss Fortune ADC, Braum Support, Kassadin Mid
Their Team:
Katarina Mid, Vayne ADC, Xin Zhao Jungle, Sona Support, Rumble Top
The only person who took Teleport is MF, our ADC. That should be interesting.
I muted her at the 17 minute mark. Fiora not long after when she said that we couldn't win with ADC Trash on our team and that MF was Trash.
And it pretty much went from there. MF couldn't seal the deal in fights, Fiora didn't seem interested in committing to fights. Volibear and Kassadin couldn't carry the rest of us. All in all, bad things.

I don't ADC ranked very often...
It's weird to lane with the support and not be the support.

Vladimir Top, Sona Support, Ahri Mid, Lee Sin Jungle, Ashe ADC
What a terrible experience. Firstly I started out badly struggling with my CS mechanics a little. It often takes me a few to get my feet under me when CS'ing. Then their Sona was SUPER HYPER aggressive. It was terrible. Morgana didn't seem to be paying attention at all and it went touch and go but I managed to pick up first blood once she engaged and I was hopeful.
Hopeful for no reason. The top and jungle were losing it hard and Sona / Ashe came back hard to punish us for first blood.
Pretty soon Morgana got fed up and quit. Rammus and Kha'Zix kept bickering in chat and getting super negative.
The whole experience was awful and exactly what I expect from Bronze...

JIV Top again...
Let's see if it generates another win.
Our Team:
Jarvan IV Top, Zyra Mid, Janna Support, Rek'Sai Jungle, Caitlyn ADC
Their Team:
Vi Jungle, Annie Support, Malzahar Mid, Mordekaiser Top, Lucian ADC
Well I got First Blooded at level 2 by Mordekaiser. So that's a terrible start...
And it all went downhill from there. I had to Mute Zyra for being a terrible person. I lost my lane hard to Mordekaiser. I don't feel like I fed, I had some good ganks and some decent ganks from Rek'Sai and one decent gank from Zyra, but for the most part I learned how to deal with him, keep my distance, close when his CDs were up, keep his shield stripped, etc. But still...didn't go well.
Anyway, we lost. Every aspect of the game...Mid and Bot went first, then eventually top. They took the Dragons and Baron and just burned us down.

4 Teleports...
Our Team:
Jayce Top, Udyr Mid, Jinx ADC, Malzahar Mid, Taric Support

Their Morgana brought Teleport. Our Malzahar, Udyr and myself also did...
So this game was awful. Kha'Zix got crazy strong crazy fast. No back, just his kit outmatched Jayce's so well so quickly at level 3 he started diving me. It didn't take long for him to pick up his first kill.
He ended up getting 3 kills off me in lane. Udyr ganked twice, the first time he came in and ganked when Kha'Zix was almost under his tower. The second time he came in as Kha'Zix dove me under my tower. I drove him off but because Udyr was there I engaged. Unfortunately it didn't go well and he killed me for time #3, to which Udyr responded telling me I was "so f***ing bad and was feeding". The game only got worse from there.
Kha'Zix carried their team. I had minimal help top lane so he did well there. I pinged MIA multiple times when he'd disappear and push my lane hard, but people would still die and still complain about no MIA being called. He fed off the other lanes more than my lane and in the end it was just awful.
He went 24/3/6. Their next highest killer was 7/2/16 on Lucian. Our best was Malzahar, 5/9/4, for myself I went 1/10/3. I never got back into the game once I was beaten in top lane.

That game was miserable from begining to end. I couldn't do anything right and, for the most part, neither could the rest of my team. Excepting maybe Ezreal and occasionally Xerath. But Xerath seemed to make enough mistakes to counter that.

Going top again!

The only person who voiced a preference (or anything for that matter, besides me) was our first picker who wanted mid. I picked second so I just went top. Why not...
Not sure how I feel about a Brand support, but I guess we'll see how it goes?
It didn't go well. Brand was awful. Azir was awful. Nidalee was awful. They all 3 fed the heck out of Graves and Ahri.
In our 29 minute loss Graves picked up 12 kills and 13 assists, Ahri 20 kills. Azir managed to die 12 times, Nidalee and Brand 9 each. I'm pretty sure Brand died twice in the first 5 minutes though.

I can't lane against her. Either I give up the lane entirely or I die to her. It seems that straight forward.
I honestly think the only way to beat her is to ban her.
It was just an awful game. My plan was to stay away from LeBlanc. I couldn't do it. I could not figure out how. She killed me again and again and again.

Originally I was going to play nemesis mode..
But my first lobby disbanded because not everyone could figure out how the game worked, fair enough...

There was a positive, friendly, cooperative atmosphere in the pregame chat lobby. Hoping it translates into the game itself...
We surrendered at 28 minutes.
It was an awful awful game. Darius got his ass handed to him by Kennen up top and fed him something like 4 kills in 7 minutes. Fizz was almost the same. Vi also fed a bunch of kills, but I don't know that I blame her - they happened when she was trying to recover a bad situation. I took down the only tower we captured.
In the mean time, Amumu, Kennen and Kayle got super fed and just roflstomped us.

Final Placement Match for the season...
I was first Pick and the enemy team banned Braum. Which I'd never seen before...
Fortunately no one on my team had a strong preference for Jungle or Support, so I thought I'd Support Zyra but couldn't find my Rune / Mastery for AP Support (found after champ select of course) so I went JIV Jungle.
Our Team:

Right off the our bot lane got destroyed. They got first blood quick, followed it up with another kill and another and another. Not long after that Caitlyn just gave up bot lane and started to gank other lanes hoping for some kills. That didn't work out for her.
I did my best but couldn't keep up with the needs. We had 0 control over the map bot lane and I couldn't seem to get any back. Quickly things crumbled.
It should be a mark of how bad things were that I had the highest CS on my team.

So it's not clear right off the bat who's playing once. Darius, Teemo and Kat all have Flash / Ignite. Lucian has Flash / Smite. If it's Lucian jungle - I've never seen that before and I don't know how I feel about it. If anyone else is jungle, I feel good he doesn't have Smite?
If Lucian is jungle - then Teemo / Leona bot? I have no idea what that'll feel like...
So....Kat and Teemo both start mid for the first minion wave, then Kat goes bot and joins Lucian and Leona until about level 3, when Lucian left to go jungle.
The game fell apart from there.
Vi came up to gank mid, but then didn't move in with Lux because "she might die".
Everytime anyone missed an attack or an ult or died Vi chimed in to tell them they were bad and they should feel bad and other negative things. I eventually asked her politely to shut up, she claimed to be helping and I muted her.
Vi and Nasus fed the crap out of Darius top. Lux fed Teemo mid and Varus and I held our own for a little while bot until things fella part.
Teemo went crazy heavy AP (asp to be expected) and was picking up kills left and right with his shrooms.
Our Varus was actually pretty good and made a decent showing.
Our Vi did terrible, continuing to feed and, apparently, degrade the team. I couldn't hear her comments of course, but our team's reaction to things I couldn't see being said seemed pretty straight forward. She ended 4/12/3.
I died quite a bit, of course. I would initiate and try to back out, but soaking a lot of damage for the team while they initiated. I also made a few bad calls trying to make or prevent something from happening, where I might normally have not tried it but it was going so bad that I just made a bad call and ran with it.
At the end, 40 minutes in, we lost with 17 kills to 38 kills.

Hrm...chat problems
Pre game chat problems. We had a lot of trouble deciding who was going to take what lane in the pre game lobby. That never gives me warm fuzzies about a game.
Our Team:
Talon Mid, Braum Support, Caitlyn ADC, Wukong Top, Nunu Jungle
Their Team:
Kha'Zix Jungle, Yasuo Mid, Taric Support, Maokai Top, Ezreal ADC
Right off the bat the team seems to insist on invading their blue and it's a disaster. We walk away giving them 3 kills and we only pick up 1.
So we start off way behind but Wukong gets fed like crazy. He's running around the map picking up more and more kills but it's not enough. Nunu and Talon are wild cards. They want to run off and do Baron when the whole enemy team is up. They want to split push when we need all 5 pushing down the center and they want to lane when the enemy is in our base killing our nexus turrets.
At first Wukong is resistant to their terrible ideas as well. The two of us talk them out of a bad Baron. But eventually they wear him down and myself as well as I don't bother to do much more than point out that their whole team is up and MIA. I join them for a second, terrible Baron idea and we get stomped hard.
At 36 minutes when Nunu suddenly leaves the game we learn that they're duo quing together, so I guess there shouldn't be any surprise there. He never makes it back to the game.
I had an awful game, I couldn't get any gold....Caitlyn and I were starved out of the bot lane. Ezreal and Taric weren't that super aggressive but they were keeping us pushed enough. Wukong ended 20/7/9, but 1 champion isn't enough to carry us all.

It's the middle of the night, I can't sleep and I'm sick - this should go well
Our Team:
Leona Support, Kayle Mid, Draven ADC, Miss Fortune Top, Rek'Sai Jungle

Lucian ADC, Darius Top, Morgana Support, Malzahar Mid, Lee Sin Jungle
Right away into the pregame channel our first picker declares Support, never bodes well for me. Not that I don't win from other lanes, I just have the best success in Ranked as support.
I went ADC, taking Draven since Mid and Jungle were also spoken for. Next round of picks the next person up chooses MF and declares that she'll go ADC. Winning.
We ended up losing MF around the 12 or 13 minute mark due to her mouse not working. She came back just in time for us to surrender at 20. At least I thought she did, but we failed the surrender.
Moments later we lost our first real team fight. It was 11 kills to 26 at this point. We'd taken 1 tower to their 6.
Quickly thereafter we lost another team fight and then lost another vote to surrender. 11 to 30.
By 30 minutes they had 2 inhibitors down. We'd failed a few more votes to surrender and it was 14 to 40.
It finally ended at 33 minutes when we both surrendered and lost our Nexus.

Quickly thereafter we lost another team fight and then lost another vote to surrender. 11 to 30.
By 30 minutes they had 2 inhibitors down. We'd failed a few more votes to surrender and it was 14 to 40.
It finally ended at 33 minutes when we both surrendered and lost our Nexus.

For once I'm not the one playing Viktor...
Our Team:
Tristana ADC, Braum Support, Vlad Top, Jarvan IV Jungle, Viktor Mid
Their Team:
Orianna Mid, Vayne Top, Miss Fortune ADC, Anivia Support, Shyvana Jungle
The Vayne / MF choice had us a little perplexed during the picking stage. Hopefully Vlad will wipe the floor with her, but we'll see.
I'm interested to see how Viktor does against Orianna. I know I personally struggle in that match-up...but I think Viktor's capable. Just requires patience.

Well we may not know. Viktor showed up late, Orianna was already well into her early game CS. Orianna quickly pulled up 5 kills and Viktor sank to 5 deaths.
Shyvana was also getting fed. She came down and dove bot lane hard. Killed all 3 of us, myself, Tris and Viktor who had come down to help push. She tower dove me easily level 10 to level 9...
Eventually I had to mute Viktor. I couldn't take listening to him any more....he was awful. But by that point it was already over. He'd given up too many kills to the enemy team. Shyvana and Orianna were too fed.
We tried. Valiantly I feel like. But at the end of the day it just wasn't enough. We couldn't make up for the deficit.
At the end of the game Viktor had died 16 times in 35 minutes. Orianna had 20 kills, Shyvanna 18. And the post game chat was just a constant stream of obscenities between teams.

I almost had to play Syndra...
Not that it would have been so bad. I like Syndra.
Our Team:
Sivir ADC, Olaf Top, Braum Support, Rengar Jungle, Zed Mid
Their Team:
Caitlyn ADC, Udyr Jungle, Quinn Mid, Teemo Top, Thresh Support
This was probably the worst of the games I've played yet. We got HOSED. Bad. 12 to 27.
Rengar died 7 times, as did Zed. Sivier and Olaf both went down 5 times. Most everyone died to Teemo with 14 kills.
It was just awful. We weren't losing our bot lane, but we weren't winning it either. They managed to get a kill on Sivir but we managed to turn it around and get a kill on Cait. They were keeping us pretty pushed in our lane, but we were keeping up in CS and levels. In fact at one point I'd spent more time in lane than anyone and had a level advantage.
Teemo just owned his lane and quickly started branching out. They had wards and shrooms and traps everywhere. We just couldn't win a fight, and we couldn't get together to win one if we tried. People would enter team fights too late or too early.
Ugly.

And another one bites the dust
Our Team:
Diana Jungle, Miss Fortune ADC, Braum Support, Darius Top, Vlad Mid
Their Team:
Graves ADC, Shaco Jungle, Morgana Support, Fiora Top, Akali Mid
Most of the team was awful. Diana b'd in the middle of a fight. Diana and Darius abandon Miss F to Akali to chase down Graves. Vlad pretty much refused to participate in anything the rest of the team was doing. At one point Vlad refused to participate in team fights until we "got a decent jungler who would gank mid". Never mind that this was 25 minutes into the game and he was farming top.
What's crazy is we could win team fights when we got together and worked together. But it so rarely happened and there was so much negative talk at each other inbetween every bad event...it was just doomed.
Plenty of faults of my own. I tried to move into a fight and moved in too late, just got myself killed. I made others as well, I'm sure.

Back in the saddle - and it's like I never left

Amumu went Ignite / Smite, is that a thing now?
My first ranked game in...well certainly over a year. I quite LoL a while back out of frustration, but I never stopped liking the game. I just stopped having fun when I was playing the game.
Ian got me back into it with the new Team Mode, where you can queue up for the position / champion you want to play and get a team that way. I like it and the ranking in it isn't quite so vicious. People aren't uber serious.
But give it enough time and I want to play more..competitively. So tonight I played ranked again.
And it went about as it ever did. Our Ezreal mid kept overextending and blaming everyone else for being low level newbs. Our Darius kept diving into fights 1 on 3, 2 on 4, where we were just outnumbered and could not win.
All in all it was bad. I couldn't find a winning play. If I dove in and soaked up the CC, I'd die and the team wouldn't take advantage. If I stayed back someone would dive in solo and make a bad move.
I'm sure I had plenty of blame to shoulder as well. Because there's no built in replay, I've decided to start FRAPSing my games and uploading them so I can link them in the post and review them later. I forgot to record at the start but got it started quickly enough.

Last guy who picks wants to play Fizz Mid?
Subject says it all. Claims mid and wants them to not ban Fizz and for whoever goes first or second pick to pick Fizz and swap with him. I have a feeling he's not going to get Fizz and if he doesn't, he'll just feed... But maybe I'm just being overly critical.

So he got Fizz..and he went Flash Heal? I guess I'll wait to see how it is before I judge it.
Not sure I've ever laned with JIV against Garen top, so we'll see hwo that goes too.
Well....I don't want to say that I under-estimated Garen. But perhaps I over-estimated my ability to soak damage. I need to be smarter....went 0/1 at the 8 minute mark.
On my way back, Nautilus ran into him in the Jungle and was leading him out. I met him and engaged. My pop-up didn't affect Garen, not sure why....I don't know his powers well enough maybe? Anyway, Maplhite and Lux came up so it was quickly 1v3. I dodged Lux but was low enough for Malphite to dive under my tower.
From there the game fell apart. Fizz was feeding Lux pretty hard. Bot lane was trading kills, mostly MF killing and Sona getting killed. I managed to take my tower first, around the same time bot lost theirs, but that was maybe the last "bright" spot. And I only took mine because I recgonized
Sona wasn't that great. I watched her dive a bush face first after watching Fizz die in it...she thought she could kill Malphite 1v1 with her Ult. And at most she had a single ward on the map at any time. Usually less.
Game ended at 37 minutes with our Nexus being destroyed.

Promotion Series - Game 2
Our Team:
Fiddlesticks Jungle, Viktor Mid, Darius Top, Ashe ADC, Lux Support

Annie Mid, Janna Support, Miss Fortune ADC, Jax Jungle, Fiora Top
So, interesting lobby. I was going to go Janna support, I was second pick on my team, but the other team took her on their first round of picking. They also took Annie mid so I thought "hey, I bet I can Viktor vs that." Let's find out!
No one other tahn Ashe and I had even moved or bought items when the minons spawned. Not a good start.
By the time Fiddles was 4 and Darius was 5 I was 7.
Fiddles fed the enemy team hard. By 25 minutes he was 0/7/1. He and Ashe were both feeding Jax, though Ashe was getting reasonbly fed off others.
By 26 minutes they surpassed us in kills, 25 to our 23. Fiddles was 0/8/1. I died twice in 2 minutes to go to 5/2/3.
By this point Miss Fortune was crazy fed and just destroying everyone with her ult.
Ashe, 7/8/11 and Fiddles 0/10/2 at the 30 minute mark. Starting to lose badly. No vision on the map.
I'm 7/3/8 at 34 minutes. 0/13/3 for Fiddles. He's level 13.
At 42 minutes we had almost no towers or inhibitors left, including the nexus towers. It was 47 to 49 kills in their favor and they had Baron. Fiddles was 0/15/6 at level 16.
We finally lost at the 47 minute mark.

Our Fiddlesticks situation was incredibly frustrating. Ashe was a bit frustrating too, she would fire her arrow off as a great initiate right *before* everyone was close enough to actually initiate, so we'd get into the fight just after they were done being stunned.
Fiora was constantly split pushing and we couldn't keep track of her. Darius lost his lane huge but made it up in kills during the team fight mode.
Lux was pretty decent but wasn't really playing support, she was playing AP Lux and so we had almost no ward coverage but what she and I occasionally placed.
My CS fell off big time after I won my lane. I just couldn't find any safe CS. Ashe would constantly bitch anytime others killed creeps in a lane. Fiddles went to an abandon bot lane to farm CS around 25 minutes and Ashe yelled and spam pinged at him for "taking her CS".
Awful game. But hey, I lead the game for Magic Damage dealt to Champions and I got an Honorable Opponent, so that's something...
